MARTINI

The Martini owes its heritage to gin. Originally concocted by a 17th century Dutch medical professor named Francois de Boe Sylvius to relieve kidney disorders and to purify the blood.

One of the many stories that surround the original Martini reads like this:

In 1870 at Julio Richelieu's saloon in Martinez, California a drink was mixed for a visiting miner. Julio placed an olive in the glass before handing it to the man, and then named it after his town.

The martini, through the years, has been referred to as a Martinez or Martine yet has continued to share common characteristics that we see in the modern day Martini.

The history of the beloved Sour cocktail is linked back to the 17^th Century when Spaniards had to find another way to form alcohol from imported grapes as the King of Spain outlawed wine.

Peru is said to be the birth place during the 18^th Century of the Pisco Sour. Many variations of the original Sour have developed around the world since this time and today, are some of the most popular drinks in cocktail bars.

The balance of sweet and sour essential to every Sours cocktail has been the constant while bartenders across the globe for hundreds of years have tried to better what many describe as the perfect drink.

10 Cane rum, Cointreau and Belvedere orange stretched with caramel. Add pineapple and orange juice along with fresh passionfruit, strawberries and chunks of pineapple.

Campalinni
Campari and Cointreau combined with muddled orange shaken and topped with Chandon Vintage Australian Sparkling wine.

Equal parts Amaretto and Bourbon lengthened with raspberry and pineapple shaken over ice and served straight up.

Lychees and fresh passionfruit pulp shaken with 42 Below passionfruit vodka, lychee liqueur and fresh lime juice
